::The staff are very friendly. However, I wouldn’t recommend renting from here, there are other places in the city for better prices and same service. I rented an electric bicycle and expressed my concern going uphill because of my bad knee. I’ve rented electric bicycles all over the world so I know how it is suppose to work. The staff said it would help on the hills. Their electric bicycles have an extremely weak engine to the point where it is no help and going up the steep hills of sky road becomes impossible with the extra weight of the bicycle. When I told them this they tested it, but I don’t think they were really listening to the issue. The motor worked but it just couldn’t power a hill. My issue is I was disappointed and expected at least some discount but instead it was just awkward silence as they waited for me to leave. More so, I watched them give the customers before me a special card on information where to write a review but did no such thing for myself. Makes me question how controlled their reviews are. *edit Reply to your reply* Glad you appreciate all comments! So thank you. After renting this bike I stopped at another store in town, who does in fact rent eBikes for €8 less. My friend help reinvent/engineer pedal assisted electric bikes, so I know how they function very well. In addition to having used a wide array of eBikes over the years. I’ve owned a motor bike as well, and that is not what I was asking about. Some eBikes have a boost. Lastly, I acknowledge you tested the bike but I was explaining it was not a test to see the issue I was talking about. Riding it on flat ground or checking the motor does not replicate the steep hills to see it functions appropriately. Moral of my story is that these bikes are useless for those with injuries wanting to go on the Sky Road. More so, that I was not offered any remedy which any reasonable person would expect. P.s. an array of sought out good reviews does not properly reflect a business. I am sure you offer great service for those who do not need any special assistance. Again, for this situation it is not an appropriate place to rent. Thanks for listening, take care!

::We very much wanted to cycle the Sky loop road but had left ourselves too little time. Our Arches B&B host suggested we have a chat with Jonathan at Connemara Bike Hire to see what was possible - which we did. The outcome was a beautiful ride on Electric bikes (our first time). With great instruction and all safety equipment including helmets and safety vests. The road was great and the bikes were exceptional.

::Fabulous shop. Very well run business. The electric bikes they rent are an incredible way to explore Connemara and Amanda and Jonathan, the owners, go above and beyond to recommend routes and give customers the personal touch. They also stock locally produced goods so there is also time to pick up a souvenir after a days cycling around beautiful Connemara!. Would highly recommend any visitor to drop in.
