This is the best Embassy i have ever been in Dublin so far. Very warm and welcoming atmosphere. As a EU family member i had a chanse to deal with very polite, helpful visa offiser who treats you with respect and very gentle with your visa. 100 % respond rate on emails. Flexible appointments system , you just have to book it in advance because France is such a nice country and a lot of people want to see the beauty of it. Thanks load, i will definitely book an appointment and go back there again.

I wish to give 0 star for visa appointment service they currently have, First time in my life I see this kind of worst visa appointment service by any embassy, They charge approx. EURO 2.95 for single min, through this process you will lose hundreds of EURO for making appointment. This is real harassment for small budget people who planning to gone on budgeted way(Earlier flight booking/hotel) then you will lose money via French visa appointment system, So not recommend any person for French embassy. I wish they have proper system of appointment as other EU country embassy follows.

I called today with a simple question wetter my friend needed a visa to pass through (transit) France (end destination Belgium) or not and the lady was very rude and did not let me finish my question and kept pointing out that I had to either go on the website section visas or send an email. So why are they reachable by phone?????

I'm surprised to read all negative reviews. I recently went to the Consulate to change my child's passport. We were received on time and were done in less that 30 min. The passport picture we brought wasn't fitting the standards but the Consulate agent spent time cutting it for the right size and scanning it several times so we won't need to come back. We received the passport within 2 weeks as we were initially told. The waiting room is nice with TV, magazines and a playstation for kids. If you have paperwork to do with the Consulate/Embassy don't wait for the last minute! Make sure to book your appointment 2-3 months in advance and read all info on the site - it's there! It's not different from any other Embassies around the world. I agree though that Consulate agents could be more welcoming and smiling - we come in peace after all! And we are their country fellows. But from my experience, it's not different from any other french administration in France itself... We didn't have exceptional or urgent requests with the Consulate so I can't speak for that part.

I'm used to travel around the world and getting help from these French offices for visa or services. We all know as French that our administrations aren't really convenient, full of paperwork, but still we need them. Today, I'm living with my girlfriend in Dublin since a couple of months. 2 months ago, she got her wallet stolen, full of important documents. Debit card, ID, PPS card... This wasn't a comfortable situation for us, but this embassy managed to make it worst. They putted my girlfriend under pressure. They made her crying, and starting a panic attack, but they kept telling her she has no right to go back to France. These people, in this embassy, will never try to help you. There is no way to treat a human like they did. Here is our experience with them: They intentionally asked us more files than required to make a passport. On the first day, we headed to the embassy, we had the police report, ID photocopy (copy that they have on their server as well to prove it's the good one) in order to print the ID. They asked a new appointment because they do not offer such a service. We had to request a full new passport with all the papers needed, even thought all the data were on the photocopy!! Then we collected all the files on the website (proof of address, ID pictures, everything...). On work time (because they're closed after 5pm), the new appointment took place and they asked for an expired old passport that is in France. Yes, they asked my girlfriend to get back to France (With no ID), bring the expired passport back in order to make the new one. Worst thing, we could've get it sent by someone if they helped us with a list in the first place. But we had to search everything by ourselves. During all this time, she had no proof of ID (don't even think about searching an apartment, open a bank account, or whatever you'll need when you start a new job), stuck in Ireland. For French, there is no way to get a temporary ID that allow you to fly-back to France and then to Ireland. If you need to go to this place, I wish you good luck.
