  This was a regular bolt-hole for my wife and I over the years because it's about 25 minutes from home, and we're invited to a wedding there this Christmas so we were delighted to be back! Same roaring fire, comfortable couches, mix of old school and more contemporary furniture etc. I suppose it could be described as shabby chic. We didn't stay overnight here this time due to proximity to home, but the rooms are similarly wonderful from what I have seen and heard from those who stayed after the weekend. The annex that used to house the swimming pool is now the main reception room for weddings, and a really cosy one at that. Could maybe do with some additional bathrooms on site, but that's a minor issue. The staff were extremely friendly and very engaging. Those who were on the floor for the wedding were great and add the guests feel like kings and queens, very polite and professional. Surroundings are beautiful, and the house itself is fantastic. Good Guinness too!

  Wonderfully restored country house in Bellinter in Co Meath. The Bathouse Spa is a truly tranquil spot to relax & unwind. Afternoon tea by the fire in the drawing room is fabulous experience. If your staying over, the rooms in the main house are really luxurious. Ou may enjoy dinner in the Eden Restaurant in the vaulted basement where they serve a true country house dinner menu of wild game. If you prefer you may eat from the delicious bar menu served in the drawing room. It is particularly lovely at this time of the year with the reception rooms festooned with Christmas decorations.

  Spent 2 nights there for a wedding, beautiful surroundings, lovely building, although needing an allover reform work, not too clean. Wonderful staff. However the rooms in the old stables have nothing to do with the rooms in the main building... uncomfortable, no space, nothing to put the clothes in, not clean, utmost spartanic, dark, bathroom very small and dirty, spiders, very expensive for what they offer, poor breakfast. Definitely no 5 stars. Will not return.
