  Got a wisdom tooth removed, I think it was with Dr. O'Connell. Bear in mind that this happened around 2 years ago so it may be the other male dentist working there. Originally Dr. O'Connell thought it was a fairly simple extraction so I was quoted for a normal extraction. However 30 minutes or there abouts into the removal he realises that he will actually have to cut my gum to remove the tooth, making it a surgical extraction. By this stage the local anaesthetic started wearing off so I could feel the drill cutting into my nerve on the gum. Dr O'Connell shocked that I was squirming in the chair and that I could feel the pinch decided to administer more local anaesthetic. However, it did not take the second time round and we carried on the treatment with me in anguish and him yanking at my tooth. The reason he couldn't remove the tooth was that he couldn't get a good grip and the tooth kept breaking. It was a highly traumatic and un recommendable experience, maybe it was a once off but the reason I am leaving this review is that I was so traumatised after getting it done that I put off getting my other wisdom tooth removed until last week. This experience was professional and seamless, also I was administered sedative so I practically slept through the whole thing, and the after care instructions were much more precise than those given by Cork City Dental. To add insult to injury I was charged extra as it was a surgical extraction not a simple extraction like I was originally quoted. However, he did let me off some miscellaneous fee of like 30 euro which was some tiny consolation.
