If you want a second chance in trying to achieve something, going to Cork College of Commerce might do just that for you, as I found out through two years there.. After not achieving what I had hoped for in my leaving certificate I was left with few education options in Cork City. I was given a courses brochure for the 2014-2015 academic year for Cork College of Commerce. I enrolled in their Fetac/QQI level 'Police and Security Studies' course which lasted one year. During my year there I met some great people through my course, received work experience in security, made valuable connections, received my PSA security licence and have been working in security for over a year now. My classmates and I were received well by a very professional set of teachers and trainers who had previous experiences in lines of work such as policing, security, crime research, and law. The college timetable was very reasonable and was given enough time to get coursework and assignment finished. They have a main study hall and computers which students can avail of. There is WIFI in most parts of the three story building as well as a smoking area, a canteen and disability supports. After my year in Police and Security I was hungry for academia, I decided to take my chances at doing the college's 'Psychology and Social Studies' course in the aim I could use it as a back door into going onto third level education. Similarly this year I received great work experience through the college's help, was able to engage in great course content with another fantastic of teachers and learn more valuable life lessons. After being received well throughout the year and taking my confidence, the work put in during the year payed off and as I was able to take my points gathered in there onto further education. I am now finishing my first year of academic studies in University College Cork and still working security all thanks to my time in Cork College of Commerce.

Historic place for education. It would deserve some maintenance. A lot of courses are held here from language to yoga to photography etc
