Lobby, restaurant and bar all look lovely, just like the photos online. Upper floors and rooms not as high a standard though. Hotel is a 45 mins walk from centre of Dublin, or a 15 mins bus ride from right outside the hotel. Main issue though as at August 2019 is the very loud construction work going on right next door from 7am every morning. Had we known beforehand we would have brought earplugs or moved elsewhere. See photo of view from our room

Beautifully-kept hotel that had a recent rennovation. Well, that went really well! And with housekeeping staff like Julia at the ready, I find it so refreshing to return to such a clean and spotless room! My room is well-appointed and the bathroom looks brand new. Gorgeous! Decent location between downtown and airport with bus service just across the street. Transportation has been easy and inexpensive at €3 to most places. Just make sure you have coins. Book early, it's been full for at least every day this week.

This is a nice hotel in Drumcondra. It is a little bit outside of the city centre, but for €3, you can be on Grafton St in 15 mins. The hotel is in a nice neighbourhood with several nice dining options close by. Staff are attentive and friendly. For Americans: the rooms tend to be small, and there is no air conditioning; that being said, I hope you didn't fly to Dublin to sit in a hotel room. Would recommend to anyone looking for a more laid-back stay, far from the crowds of tourists closer to the city centre.

Unfortunately, we had quite bad experience due to the bad smell in the room(s). The first room we got was smelling so badly, that our 1 year old girl (which had been sleeping all the time in the bus from the airport, getting off the bus, crossing the street, and checking in) immediately woke up and started to cough. The room was simply uninhabitable, so I went down to the reception, asking what that should mean, and to get another room. I wouldn't be giving any explanation other than the room was sprayed a while ago... (However, the smell wasn't just an air freshener, it was like a mix of maybe smell from fresh painting trying to be covered by the air freshener). Also, talking to another customer in the corridor on my way, we were apparently not the only one... We were given a new room, the smell was the same bad, just not so intensive. The following days, every day we spent the whole day out of the room while the window was open as much as it could be all the time, but the room smell was still the same bad when we returned in the evening anyway... We wouldn't have any problem otherwise, the hotel's location is not so bad either (some shops/restaurant near by as well as buses to the city center and to the airport). However, next time going to Dublin, I'm going to ask my company not to be booked into Skylon.

We have had excellent, friendly service at Dublin Skylon. The rooms are clean. The lobby is always bustling making this a very hospitable place. Bus services are right outside the hotel. They have a taxi ready and waiting for us when we ask, making it very easy to get around. The restaurant has friendly staff and good food.
