  I received my first pack of Flex classes as a birthday present and thought, "oh great, exercise classes...NOT" but it turned out to be the best gift I've ever received, and over a year later, I'm still going back! I have a hip injury from years of playing hockey, and the reformer classes do wonders for my posture, and keeping me pain-free. I would definitely recommend reformer if you've had an injury or find most exercise classes cause you pain afterwards. The barre classes are really tough work but so worth it as well. You will feel the burn a lot more there, but you feel so good afterwards, like you've really accomplished something. Take barre classes if you're looking for a high intensity workout class that will get your heart rate up and your thighs shaking.

  Joining Flex in the City is the best decision I have made. The best thing about Flex for me is the genuine warmth and positively from the two instructors. Julette and Miranda beam positive vibes and encouragement as they guide you through the even the toughest of classes, and are always on hand for any questions. You don't just feel like you are working out, you feel like you are spending time with friends. Classes are always instructed so you can work with your own body's limits and modify the moves. Whether you are an Olympian or a couch potato you are welcome here. If you are a man, and not sure about Pilates, don't be put off, I see guys in classes all the time. If you are at all curious about Pilates get in touch and they will be glad to give you advise. They have classes as early as 6.45am and as late at 8pm throughout the week and also offer private lessons. There are two studios in Penrose Wharf. The one with the visible front is where Barre classes happen. They also have the Reformer studio around the corner in the Float premises. If you book a reformer class, you might think you are going the wrong way but head over to Float and to go down the hall to the left.

  Flex and the City has so many options for classes in their timetable so you can definitely find a class that suits you. Both the reformer and barre classes are really great workouts!

  Nice place, clean and organised. I did 3 classes of reformer Pilates but they offer other modalities. This class has 5 costumer and last 40 to 45 min. I believe it would be better if there was more guidance to overcome personal limitations. I didn't like the way I was oriented,I would give 3* but I know other clients enjoy it, including the bar class. It is on the ground floor, inside the Penrose wharf. Has a changing room and a toilet. Sells some snacks and water.
