  The food was amazing, and the staff were great. I've been dreaming about the chocolate terrine since. If you're in Kilkenny this place is a must!

  Very disappointing. Can't understand how this place is getting five star reviews. The prices weren't bad and it was a good varied menu. I ordered Garlic and herb stuffed chicken with mash and veg. The chicken came out as a cylindrical/sausage shape. Looked processed to me. The veg may have been frozen (I'm not sure) and were covered in a sweet sauce. The mash was pretty bland. My wife had the gnocchi and said it wasn't very good. The gnocchi tasted like small balls of mash as opposed to the normal slightly firm dumplings we're used to. The sauce was a kind of sweet and sour sauce. It didn't sit very well with the other ingredients incl Parmesan. It's a comfy enough room but the decor seems very busy/hap hazard. We are at 3.30 on a Saturday afternoon. Maybe the proper chef was on a break?? But still for us it's a 2 out of 5 despite the other good reviews.

  Great restaurant, very enjoyable food and extremely pleasant staff. It was recommended to us and we didn't regret the visit. Very reasonably priced as well.

  We had a really lovely lunch here. We just walked in off the street not knowing anything about the place and we both ordered the roast chicken. We were pleasantly surprised at the standard of this elevated roast chicken dish. Lovely presentation and taste. Very reasonable aswell at €14.50 for a main course. Happy to recommend this place and in particular this dish.
