My kids and I love this place! You have some play grounds for kids(at the entrance play ground with sand) , places to eat (not extraordinary choice though but you will be able to survive), lots of fresh air and mini roads to walk. As it’s open place it’s very windy, so better to have some warm clothes. We really like “tropical house” with butterflies, fishes, snakes and turtles! Very warm inside but beautiful. Little train is circulating every 25-30 min. We’re nice view when it’s feeding time.

Fota is a must visit if you are in Cork, especially with children. It is slightly expensive but offers memberships at reasonable rates which are great if you are a regular visitor. The animals in Fota really do have much more freedom than in a zoo. The layout is also excellent, taking you on a lovely walk around the grounds with something to see at every corner. There is a lovely café and souvenir shop at the entrance, as well as a great picnic area and restaurant at the far end of the complex. Definitely worth it on a hot summer's day!

Great day out for animal lovers of all ages. Wrap up warm on cold days and don't expect to see all the animals in every single exhibit. The water fowl feeding time is fun. The tiger cub (October 2017) is adorable.

Had a great time in Fota last summer. Reasonable price for parking, and for entry into the grounds. Nice big area to walk around. It was really nice seeing some of the animals that were just let to roam freely around the park. Some great exhibits. I'd definitely recommend try to catch some of them during feeding time!

We have returned several times. It is a true gem. Nicely laid out with s surprisingly broad collection. It is a lovely stroll and can be covered in a couple of hours, or extended to fill the day. Cheetahs, rhinos, lions, tigers, monkeys, giraffes, zebras, aquatic birds, free- roaming kangaroos; you get the idea. A surprising gem.
