A really stunning garden that remembers all those who fought to bring freedom to Ireland. The pool is quite nice as is the statute at one end but together it really makes for a nice garden. It is located a few steps down from the street isolating it and making it feel really tranquil.

Well maintained, a nice place to find some peace and quiet near the city centre.

Gorgeous garden. Sat here and had lunch, so quiet and peaceful. They have a lift for people with limited mobility (please see the pictures).

This place has a story to tell, a story about the children of lir. These 3 children fought alongside the Irish army to drive the British out of Ireland. The British army recruited a high priestess to cast a spell and turn the 3 children into swans. They now stand at the top of this garden awaiting the chosen one to break the spell. Legend says the chosen one must place a soldier piece of bread dipped in egg in each of the swans beaks. We do know the chosen one left Ireland for the shores of America because that's what you did in them days, it is very possible that his descendants are still living in America not knowing that they can break this spell. Note: Although this story might not be true, some facts remain. The garden is there to remember fallen soldiers, there is a statue of the Children of Lir and it's worth a visit for some peace and quiet in a busy city.

Nice quiet area in the centre of town. A place for calm and reflection on the significance of the monument and what it means for us to remember. There is convenient wheelchair / pram access around the east side due to the large amount of Steps. The statue itself and water feature is beautiful.
