  Platforms are sufficiently wide. However lift access to platforms 1,2&3 are routinely not working or accessible. Ticket office is based on the Donaghmede side of the station complex. In short only consider using this station if you can manage a lot of steps. Definitely not wheelchair/pushchair friendly due to the inconsistent lift access.

  This station is located in Donaghmede close enough to the shopping centre.It is sometimes a dodgy place and there are generally security announcements telling people to "get off the ticket barriers" etc.It can be a scary place sometimes.But luckily there are sometimes CIE Security guards there.It operates services on the DART Network and Commuter Services.There are information screens and shelters through out the station The station was opened in 1847,by the Dublin & Drogheda Railway.It was the junction for the Howth line which had only one intermediate station at that time Sutton.It was originally named Junction and it was renamed Howth Junction 1906.It had a signal box beside platform 1 but this was nearly destroyed in 1980.It also used to have various station buildings shelters ticket office etc between platform 2 & 3.In 1984,platforms 1&2 were electrified to allow DART Services to Howth from Bray.Along with this,a new ticket office shed was added along with a new footbridge.The station buildings were also knocked down during this time.Then in 2000,the Belfast line as far as Malahide.Along with a 100% new station was built it consists of a similar design to Maynooth line stations.

  good junction with a Mc Donalds beside it and regular enough services. Mark Leavy why do a full SA on the station
