  We left our four small dogs in this kennels for 5 days. On our return, we noticed that one of our pet had lost lots of hair. I thought it was stress but after closer examination, we noticed he has blood marks all over his body. We brought him to the vet who said it appeared that his hair was pulled out. We messaged and spoke with Fergal in Keansfield kennels who then explained that he used a Slicker brush on our dog to remove some mats he had. Matlese dogs have hair - not fur, so to use this brush is like using a comb to get chewing gum from a child's hair. The pain our little chap would have gone through would have been awful. Not for monetary value but as a way to hurt them a little in their pocket, we asked for our boarding fees back. They refused and said they did nothing wrong, despite our little chap having to go on a course on anti inflammatories as his skin was raised and red where the hair had been pulled out. Mr Kean eventually sent a cheque for €100 to cover the vet bill and to have our little guy groomed - as he looked dreadful after his ordeal. Our dog would not allow us to touch him for about a week because he was so sore. It took months for his hair to grow back but thankfully, hes fine now. We have photos of our little pal following his ordeal and the letter from Keansfield in which Mr Keane admits using the slicker brush on our little pals. I would not recommend this kennels to anyone.

  Our dog Lilly has been going to Margarita and Fergal for years also, she jumps with excitement when she realises that she is at the kennels and can't wait to get into her friends. She is treated fantastically and highly recommend this kennels to anybody who is looking for a home from home for their dog. We always get her groomed with Fergal and she comes home looking brilliant. Thanks to you both.

  My dog has had a lovely few stays here. She was so happy when we picked her up the first time she didn't want to leave. She's been happy to return. She is treated with great love and care each time by the owner each who is clearly passionate about dogs and all animals. I've recommended Keanesfield to many of my friends who've since had equally positive experiences.

  My dog has been going to Margherita and Fergal for years. They offer a fantastic service and take great care of him. He has lots of space to run around and loves mixing with the other dogs. He is always so lively when I pick him up that I often think he would rather stay there!

  Absolute home from home for all of our 4 dogs. Couldn't recommend margherita and fergal highly enough. They are fantastic with the dogs. Being able to get you dog groomed is an added bonus and Fergal is so patient and kind with the dogs. He is also one of the few groomers who will groom long haired cats. Trust me it's a very difficult job☺
