  The rudest and most inconsiderate manager we ever met. Took a birthday present that was draining batteries like within 10 mins, took it back the very next day with receipt. They put in new batteries and refused to believe me. Then they took out their batteries and absolutely refused any exchange. They laugh with eachother when you are talking to them and are very rude and uncooperative. I’m willing to pay double price on toys anywhere else but not setting foot in that place again. I have never seen such behaviour from manager or staff anywhere in the country.

  Would give this 0/5 if I could. Bought a PS4 game for my nephew in Portlaoise. Turns out he has an XBox. I went back to the store within an hour of buying it to ask for a refund, exchange or store credit. Was stonewalled by their supervisor who said ring Head Office, she couldn't do anything for me. I was NOT told by their cashier there was a no refund or exchange policy on games nor was there a sign at the register I bought at. When I pointed this out to the supervisor she said there was a sign but it was nowhere near the register I was at. Any reputable company will always tell you there's no exchange or refund at the tills if this is their policy. It's also pot luck where you stand at their gaming counter whether you get to see this sign. If I was told they had this policy or they had a visible sign at every register then I could have made the decision to go ahead and buy or leave it and buy elsewhere where they value their customers and are more accommodating. I rang Head Office at 9:00 am this morning. It took 12hrs for them to come back to say there's nothing they can do. Of course there's something KEN BLACK can do if they wanted. Just a company who couldn't give a toss once they have your money. One things for sure, they'll never get another cent from me again. AVOID this lousy company at all costs!!!

  Staff have the wrong attitude for a toy shop. I had an issue over the pricing of a toy and they refused to accept the issue was theirs not mine. This resulted in my 5 year old son leaving the shop crying. It wasn't the money it was the principal of what happened. Just think a toy shop gives a child a great feeling this one made him cry. Spent twice the amount in another shop and had a happy boy. They don't understand or care. I wouldn't be going back.

  Good toy shop. Good selection. Terrible staff. If you want to listen to explicit rap music at 2 O'clock on a Sunday afternoon with young children present, well then this is the place for you. Do you also long to be treated as if you are invisible? Well again, you are also in luck. The numerous times I have been in here, the staff are the same, unfriendly and generally treat you like you are an inconvenience. A simple 'hello', and 'can I help you find what you are looking for?' would do wonders to customer service in here.

  A great selection of toys. Reasonably priced. Staff extremely friendly and eager to help. They seem to love chatting to kids which makes them feel appreciated. They have no issue with you testing out products. Their web site is under construction but Smith's have all the same stuff at the same price.
