  Beautiful from the outside but sadly we didn’t get to see the inside as it closed at 5 til 5pm on a Thursday. Hours listed on google are incorrect as it lists 5:30PM. Worth a visit!

  A must see! Take the guided tour of this beautiful castle and then take in the glorious views of Kilkenny itself.

  The restoration has been done very well the Castle is quite nice and the gardens are beautiful. Only down side is parking and you would have to make couple of rounds before getting a spot. The best place we found to park was the Overflow Bus Parking little ahead of the Castle. The Buttler slip and market nearby are nice.

  Kilkenny Castle (Irish: Caisleán Chill Chainnigh) wurde 1195 erbaut und gilt als Symbol der Normannischen Herrschaft in Irland. Das Gebäude blieb bis ins 20. Jahrhundert in Familienbesitz und wurde im 19. Jahrhundert umfassend umgebaut. Bei schönem Wetter ist auch die beeindruckende Parkanlage einen Besuch wert.
