::Great launch last Thursday 08 March 2018. Minister Flanagan opened the Launch and the MD of Lift Inspect Elizabeth Orford and CEO of Liftinstituut Netherlands Marco Waagmeester gave compelling speeches why Ireland needs to start enforcing the safety inspections of lifts which is a Statutory Requirement under the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work ( General Application) Regulations 2007. 20,000 lifts in Ireland do not receive this mandatory safety inspection according to the MD of Lift Inspect. That can be compared to two thirds of the cars on the road not being NCT'ed. Lift Inspect stated that their mission is to raise the safety levels of lifts & escalators, independent, impartial and cost effective.
