  Thoroughly enjoyed an 'afternoon tea' today. Seated over looking the gardens - could not have asked for better. Staff very friendly and gave a fresh refill in the teapot. Cakes were gorgeous and scones with jam and cream were delicious. Sandwiches and rolls were tasty. It was all just lovely - thank you to all.

  We had a beautiful afternoon and evening here just before Easter. High tea is super no matter in which order you put jam, clotted cream or butter a top your scones, drink tea, coffee or aperitif. The hot pool, relaxing suit steam room and sauna, make for a sensuous suite. Treatments available take this destination to an altogether and absolutely differentiated "environment of joy" Book visit and take a breath of freshness.

  Arrived during the day when crossing the threshold at the main entrance you are taken back in time of grandeur and elegance. The main reception staff including the usher make you feel at ease the moment you arrive. The Main house has a charm of it own Our room was comfortable and spacious. Lot of information available on activities to suit all ages. Shuttle Service to and from Kilkenny city centre. Our meals, dinner and breakfast was excellent. The breakfast is a must-have. Would love to stay longer and will return

  Had afternoon tea here with friends we are very disappointed. We had a reservation for 3.15 pm we were served our tea at 3.40 and then our food arrived at 4.20 . Obviously to a freezing pot of tea. We asked for a fresh pot of tea and this arrived 15 minutes later. We were told that they had run out of tea pots !!!! In a 5 star Hotel. Not once during our meal were we asked was everything to our satisfaction. When we were paying the bill however and our table had been cleared a gentleman arrived with a pot of tea to ask if we would like a fresh pot. There was a young lady who was racing around doing her best to serve all the tables, she was doing her utmost to accommodate people's complaints about the service. We felt genuinely sorry for her. Coincidentally when in the foyer we met 3 ladies who were booked in for an overnight stay they had booked a spa treatment but on arrival at the spa were told that their appointment had not been registered the ladies were extremely disappointed. It's such a pity about the overall service because this is a beautiful hotel in a lovely location.

  The best hotel ever! Staff is so friendly and helpful. The perfect place to rest and recharge your batteries! And to bring your pet! I would give 50 stars if I could! :D
