::Stayed on 24.03.18. When I entered the hotel, first thing I noticed was a horrible smell. All throughout the first floor. Onto my room. The smell of bleach made my eyes water. Its what they use to clean I was told. The room was not clean.Asked to be moved. No problem there. Second room was a little better. Beds badly made. Black marks on pillow covers. Breadfast was good Staff very nice. Would not recommend this hotel. I certainly will not return ..

::Brought my family out for dinner and the service was terrible... My uncle had your lasagna & the waiter slid the plate across the table when serving him. Some chips fell off his plate. Not the nicest way to be served food. I had two different types of goujons on my plate... Makes me believe they are frozen. I had 1/4 left in my glass of coke and the waiter didn't ask me if I was finished he just took the glass off the table and put it on the bar.... Very rude! We waited 45 minutes for our desserts that were ok. I have been coming here for years with my friends and family but sadly that left a bad taste in my mouth. We won't be returning.

::Very homely establishment with an excellent menu. You are always likely to meet up with someone for a chat. Great coffee and scones at 11am if you are not up to the equally delicious breakfasts on offer. Terrific lunch options too. Car parking at the back is free if you are lucky to get a space. Just drive to the barrier to enter and ask the staff for a token when you are leaving. Right in the centre of Portlaoise

::Tom and his staff are really lovely. So welcoming! Nothing is too much trouble. It was like home from home for me. Very comfortable bed and fab power shower! Will be back!

::I liked this hotel.all the Staff are really friendly and welcoming to myself and family. Food was great and drinks too.my 3 Yr old granddaugher also likes here to. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and clean. Can't wait to go back.
