Sooooo.....this place has a very relaxed, homey atmosphere and we were treated like family. The pizza complaints from previous posts are warranted, but they told us the pizza was ordered from a different establishment. With that said, pizza was well above average and the wine is great. There's no menu because you come in and order what you want, if they don't have it, they'll bring a few games of similar wines. Don't come here if you don't know wines...it's not a learning experience, it's a tavern. The owners are extremely unique people and will come to your tiny table and hang out for a bit...felt like family! Would come back if in Dublin.

One of Dublin's best kept secrets. It's a cultural hub in the city centre and is like an old-style 'salon' where customers are treated like family friends. Come in and grab a seat at the bar and you never know who you'll end up talking to.

Had a very disappointing experience here recently. I came here with some friends and colleagues on Culture Night (a night of free cultural events in Dublin) to see the poetry and art exhibit. We were seated for 10 minutes chatting to friends who had gotten there earlier in the night when a staff member asked if we'd like any wine. When we said we were OK for now and we were still settling ourselves in, the staff member told us that there were people waiting for a table and if we weren't going to buy any wine, we should move along. We explained that we would order wine soon but she reiterated that there were other waiting customers and they couldn't have "people taking up a table who are drinking water". I have never experienced this in any other bar so we were all pretty surprised, especially since there was nobody standing around in the area we were seated. Another table of our colleagues were also given their marching orders for not ordering drinks soon enough after arriving. We found it very negative and unwelcoming and we left. On the way out I brought up the reason for us leaving with another member of staff and she said essentially the same thing so maybe it is their company policy? I was particularly disappointed with their attitude because I was there to support the artist & poet of the exhibition and ended up feeling rather unwelcome - Culture Night events are supposed to be inclusive and this felt quite the opposite to be honest.
