  The best hostel I have stayed in, in Cork. Quieter than the other one. To be honest I have never stayed long enough to have a shower. But Shiela has always been there for me in a pinch.

  I found it Clean.. Staff friendly in .General. Sauna was A Bonus + cinema chill out Room met lots of Nice people.. Paddy layla Shaun etc. At reception Friendly Greetings. Look forwards to My Next Stay. Amen. Ps.The Piano in Lounge was a Pleasant surprise.. But The New Redesigned Kitchen is A Great Thing. Eddie Rockets Dinner style. Happy Days.

  I've grown attached to this place after some college trips. The rooms are comfortable, the staff are friendly, the prices are great and the amenities are really surprising. It's up a significant hill but even walking it isn't so bad. My gripe is mainly the massive amount of stairs, and the fact that on one trip our radiatior broke and started leaking and despite several requests nobody fixed it, so we just had a wet floor.

  The place isn't great. Looks in need of refurbishment. I was designated a bed but told, I could pick anyone I want. Little did I know how far this rule went. I come back at night to find my stuff thrown from my bed across the floor, as somone wanted to change. To me the most important thing is to have a plug, so I can charge my phone etc. So a plug per bed is fairly important. There was was only 2 plugs... ie four sockets for the 8 bed dorm, and they were across the room. I ended up sitting down stairs to charge my phone. Staff were lovely, but I think I'll be trying another hostel next time.

  I stayed at Sheila's with four other friends this past weekend. Overall, we had a good experience. We were nervous going in because we had read a lot of negative reviews of the hostel, but Sheila's was our only option due to budgets and a last minute trip. However, I would definitely recommend to others that they stay at Sheila's. The only negative experience we had was that one of my friend's sheets were dirty, not great to fall asleep in! We were able to keep bags for very cheap in the lockers while we were out exploring the city and its surroundings which was very nice and were even allowed to use the lockers after we had checked out. I read a lot of reviews talking about how in order to get to the hostel, you have to walk up a steep hill, but if you want to get to anything in the city that is the case, so it is not a downside to the hostel. The rooms were very cramped (almost no walking space between beds), but the pricing for the hostel was definitely reasonable for what you got.
