::We were attending a wedding in the Hudson Bay & stayed at Alverna for the night.. Its a beautiful spotless home, Niamh the host is very welcoming & wanted to drop us to hotel, but we had made arrangements. Bedrooms were beautifully decorated very warm & cosy. Breakfast freshly cooked next morning was delicious, dining room too is beautiful...

::Located around 5 km outside Athlone, Alverna House provides pleasant well appointed accommodation with excellent facilities. Rooms and ensuite bathrooms are spotlessly clean. Host Niamh is friendly and helpful. The excellent breakfast has a huge selection, and free WiFi is available.

::I've been to quite a few B&B's in Ireland, almost all of them are no less than great, But I can safely say that my experience at Alverna House topped them all! The house Great is located very conveniently right in the middle of Ireland, a great base to explore the midlands. Every corner is neat and clean, and tastefully decorated. The room we had was very spacious and comfortable, with everything you can ask for. It also has 2 (!) game rooms - one for children to play around (if you got 'em), and one for you "older children", including a big screen TV, Darts and a Pool table, Feels like the living room I always wanted to have :) Our hosts were amazing - this couple are the nicest people, they did a great job in helping us around, giving us tips and directions to where ever we needed, and their hospitality was very warm and generous, exceeding all expectations - and even the breakfasts were a real treat. In short - look no further, this is the perfect place!
