Great garden and interesting personalized tour of the house. It was smaller than I thought with only seven or eight rooms open to visitors, but the guide was extremely knowledgeable and our tour lasted well over an hour. The garden was superb, much bigger and better than I would have expected for a house of this size. A great place to spend a few hours. There's no food available on site, but there are a number of local options including the County Louth Golf Club which has an okay restaurant that's fairly cheap.

A wonderful experience - the tour is full of detail about the families who have lived in the house, but unlike some houses, you do get to see a lot of the rooms. It is small, not on the same scale as more grand Irish country houses, but as a result it retains a more intimate feel. The grounds are also worth exploring, with formal gardens, to fruit plantations to more wild woodland. A great day out and worth a visit.

A beautiful house full of generations of little details. It's not as large as some of the other grand houses you can see in Ireland, but this one is quite special because it's still a lived-in family home. It's worth stopping and doing the tour if you're in the area on a day that it's open.
