  Had a very disappointing meal there on the 2nd of January 2018. We were kept waiting for our meal for at least an hour. Food served on flat bits of glass like ash trays, means they put can put on less with a drizzle of gravy, no vegetables included despite a main course costing some £24. The chips were raw and presented in a small bowel. I had to ask for a second bowel because the portion is so small. Desert was nothing to write home about either. This is the second time I was disappointed with this place. Sure the decor is very nice in a lovely old building. I advise avoiding this place. The Castle just up the road is far superior for a very good meal. You won't leave there feeling hungry.

  The staff are polite and very helpful. There's an atmosphere of being at home. People are relaxed and comfortable and there's no sense of hustle.
