::This is an attractive church which was built in 1881 and it was designed by James J.McCarthy. The altar and other elements were designed by James Pearse the father of Pádraig and Willie Pearse who were executed after the 1916 Rising. The monks are highly respected and supported by the local community to which they have contributed much over their long history in the area.
