  Been here a few times over the years, I've always enjoyed the lovely food and service. The location is great (looks like a little corner of Paris in Dublin) and the ambience cosy and romantic. I'd definitely come back for a special occasion.

  We were ejected by a very rude and aggressive French waiter because we were 5 minutes past the allocated time for our table while a friend was about to finish a dish, 0 tact or sense of customer service, don't plan to return in near future. Thanks for ruining our night out.

  Beautiful food, great service, fab prices. Two course early bird was €19.95 each. We had onion soup and mussels and they were both delicious. The music is soothing and perfect for dinner. Would recommend 10/10.

  My husband and I had the early bird dinner. The smoked chicken salad was great and the filo pastry goat cheese was fantastic. For our mains we had the beef stew and mussels. Both were excellent. The portion of mussels was especially generous. Great wine selection and friendly attentive staff. I highly recommend visiting!

  We've been going to Chez Max for many years. We were very disappointed with the renovations. Very ugly ceiling lights, very unnecessary. The lovely old romantic feel is gone. We were lead to the outside back room despite the main part being only half full. It smelt of cat and we moved inside. My wife missed the friendly male staff. Our waitress twice asked us if we were finished despite food still on our plates and busy hour was past. Not going back. Very sad.
