  They closed just before we got there for some maintenance. We walked around the outside of it. Pretty castle.

  Extremely scenic location. Great place to immerse yourself into the beauty and history of this part of Ireland. Worth stopping and exploring!

  I visited the castle at 3pm in February.. It was closed! They make a big fuss about it on every tour leaflet in hostels and hotels in Dublin and Galway, seems like it's a must visit and like it'll be flocking with tourists. In all fairness it looked very pretty from outside, and do stop and see it if it's on your way, but unless you're sure it's going to be open don't make my same mistake to make a diversion just to see it, it's not worth the trouble.

  It is cool. We basically saw it from the road. That was that. Take a couple photos, have a look and then on our way.
