Great hike on a beautiful day in Ireland wth scenes from Wicklow to Dublin! Only 40 minutes with breaks, to stop and in the view (and to take a breather). It can get quite steep at the top but totally worth it. Bring a wind breaker and a sandwich for the top! They'll definitely be other people there if you want a picture. Free car park below and only a 10 minute drive up from the motorway. Definitely recommend found a sunrise hike, it’s absolutely beautiful! TIP: DONT LEAVE ANYTHING VALUABLE IN PLAIN SIGHT - there have been reports of break ins at the car park below. Keep things if you have them in your boot and leave your glove compartment empty and open.

The ways to the top of the sugar loaf are not the best, but the views from top are amazing.

A great walk from the car park up the mountain. Suitable for children but the peak is tricky.

Must do hike walk south of Dublin. It's an iconic hill with small crowds flocking to on weekends

I have climbed the Big Sugarloaf many, many times but yesterday I climber it as night to capture the sun going down. First off this climb is in no way difficult but if you are going to climb it, wear good foot ware and right at the top be ready for some hand climbing. Depending on your fitness it will take you 20 to 45 minutes to complete the climb. When you do make it to the top then the view is well worth it. I have seen people of all ages climb this mountain successfully but really this is not the most difficult part, because going down is much more dangerous. There is loose gravel, jagged edge stones and boulders, gorse bushes and dry clay pathways. Its very easy to slip even if your careful as your momentum going down might make you travel faster than you expected. Keep children close by and don't let them run ahead of you or expect trouble. The car park at the base is big but you will not be able to access it if you drive a van. The car park is safe and if you pick the right day or night you will enjoy the achievement of completing the climb and enjoying the 360% view once at the summit. Enjoy your climb but be prepared and make safety your number one priority. Thanks
