::Have stayed a few times now. Lovely family hotel and always enjoy the barge to Athlone. Double room with dividing hallway is ideal for 2+2 and nicely decorated. Bar & restaurant food to a good standard. Although our booked evening meal was delayed, an extra table was layed out quickly for us. Free breakfast has plenty of choice but be advised to be down relatively early as it can be quite busy! Pool/Leisure Centre a plus. Service excellent.

::Amazing!!! The staff is helpful and friendly. Breakfast is perfect with plenty of choices. Room is spacious, comfortable and cleaned daily. The pool is relaxing and the jacuzzi in the bathroom is perfect. This is a perfect location to drive to all the sites. I recommend this hotel to everyone!

::Dropped in at lunch time which for us was 12.35 pm. Delighted to see the carvery open and serving as we thought we would have had to wait until 1pm. The food is traditional bar food as found in any pub serving food in Dublin. My companion had the vegetable soup and i had roast beef with potatoes and veg. Oh, what a disappointment. My companions soup was bland and it had to be brought back (because there was no servers around) and cream was asked for, to try and pep it up a bit. My roast beef was fine however the veg and potatoes were not. Soapy potatoes and cold veg. It beggars belief that a carvery only open five minutes has cold veg! Soapy potatoes ! Could not a hotel that has to feed a large number of guests and does a lunch for passing trade buy decent spuds and keep food hot? I had been here before three months earlier for food in the late afternoon and it was a farce having to run after waiters trying to get our order. However i said that it was probably an off day for the Hodson Bay Hotel and i would give it another try. Sadly it seems to me that there too many off days and therefore, i cannot recommend it. Will pass on by in future.

::Was at a conference here with the family. The views from the hotel are fantastic and the watersports are good fun too. Their family rooms are superb, there were 5 of us and there was plenty of room. The food was good. I wasn't too impressed with the bathroom in the room, it had a shower curtain which I personally hate as i think they are unhygienic. The staff were very friendly and helpful which is always great when you have a young family to wrangle! I would definitely recommend this Hotel for a break away.

::Nice hotel for a weekend away. Scenery is beautiful and there’s plenty to do in the area. Hotel has a lovely pool/leisure centre. Rooms are quite basic - there’s no safe or fridge - but are comfortable. We had a mixed experience with the bar food, it was generally tasty (with huge portions), but the staff were not very knowledgeable..
