::Been here 5 hrs now waiting with male. Male was sent straight from midoc with chest pains and problem to breathe. After 4 hrs I went to see how much longer the male patient would be waiting. Got told there was ONE person before him. Then 20 mins later a nurse( to which i wont say her name) arrived with paracetamol and a very very snotty attitude. I asked her was there many before male to which i was told 3 or 4. I told her that a few mins b4 i was told one. She stood and told me a PURE LIE that 2 ambulances had come in. NO AMBULANCES HAD COME TO CHECK SICK PERSON IN. She is the most rudest...ignorant nurse i have ever come across. She continued to raise her voice to me. She has no manners and should not class herself as a nurse. Its now 5 am on a thursday morning and we are waiting since 11am wednesday night. This is a pure disgrace of a hospital.

::My grandmother, who has had issues with her blood pressure, has been staying at Midland Regional Hospital. However, when my concerned mother decided to check my grandmother’s recent readings during a visit she found that her blood pressure was not even being monitored. I'm outraged, but by no means shocked or surprised, as this is typical of the Midland Regional Hospital. Of course, once confronted, the staff began taking regular readings. When my older sister, Donna, was an adolescent, back in roughly 2005, she had been suffering from severe abdominal pain. My mother brought her to doctors at Midland Regional Hospital on numerous occasions. On one occasion, while my sister had jaundice, a doctor at this hospital would harass her every chance he got (usually when my mother wasn't there to defend her) about alcoholism, as he would relentlessly accuse her of being an alcoholic, being too sure of his presumptions, as many of these condescending self-righteous fools are. As it turned out, NO ALCOHOL had showed up in tests. Apology? I think not. Previously doctors had accused her of making the entire thing up to avoid school. But as it turned out, my sister had a severe case of gallstones and had to undergo surgery. My sister was subject to months of EXCRUCIATING PAIN because some of these incompetent, self-righteous, conformation bias chasing, arrogant doctors. In 2008, I had to visit an individual from the mental health services at a unit on the grounds of this hospital. I had an eating disorder, starving myself and excessively exercising at fourteen to loose weight, since nobody in the health services expressed interest in helping with my weight. I had my diet and weight under control thereafter, getting down to 8 stone and only gaining an insignificant amount of weight thereafter (mostly attributed to normal growth). When questioned about effects of solvent abuse, I listed effects, including that I would hear noises (tones repeating and in spontaneous patterns) and have involuntarily movements (e.g. head swaying, limbs flopping) during intoxication. He twisted this to "hearing voices and abusing solvents”. An absurd fabrication for which he should be criminally prosecuted. One doesn't simply confuse such words. He fabricated more. He had me admitted to an adult psychiatric unit on the grounds of St. Loman’s where the treatment was degrading and anti-therapeutic. However, I was transferred to suitable care, from which I was discharged very soon afterwards, due to NO sign of mental illness. Despite the results and my eating disorder, he forced me to take medications which caused rapid weight gain, and responded to my attempts of crash diets with threats of force-feeding. He did not even check my weight until the last few weeks. I starved myself for months after being taken off the medications. The warnings were present. He would pathetically make rationalizations in which he attempted attributing my compliance with his demands (submission out of fear) as the “treatment” working. He traumatized and further stunt me while doing everything in his power to create an illusion suggesting otherwise. The two individuals I had seen there after he left agreed with my opinion that I should not have been medicated, though I wouldn’t be surprised if they now denied this (typical). I regularly contemplated suicide, and still do to this day over the so-called "treatment". Those involved in my treatment should have been prosecuted for perjury, malpractice, endangerment, and psychological torture. Another doctor here claimed that my systolic blood pressure reading was "normal" at somewhere close to 140 (it was my mother who obtained the reading from a nurse). My GP seemed to disagree with this being a "normal" reading for a 25 year old man and requested that I take regular readings at home to determine whether I have high blood pressure. As it turned out, my blood pressure was not usually this high, and likely elevated due to my intense fear of doctors, but they still should not have been so dismissive. Character limitation

::I Had a baby in the Midlands regional hospital Mullingar and couldn't say enough good things about the quality of care I received. Every member of staff I met were second to none. I would highly recommend the maternity services there.
