::Went for a test drive in early March in an automatic. I've been driving an auto-tiptronic for 11 years. Noticed a shudder in the car as we slowed coming up to traffic lights to turn. I remarked on the shudder, the sales man tips the gears into manual, says nothing at the time. Later I make a call to the sales manager about concerns I have dealing with this sales man and I include the incident with the gears. He says he'll have a word with the sales man and get back to me. He does. The explanation for the gear shift was, according to the Sales Manager, that the salesman was 'showing me how the gears work'!!!! There were some other queries. Within the week after buying the car there was the shudder in the gears again. I telephone to the salesman to inform him. He reassures me that it's nothing to be concerned about. Rubbish, I think. I get it checked out by Volkswagen Assist/AA and sure enough it is something to investigate further. The investigation is carried out.........the gearbox (as I'm writing) has to come out and the console in the front of the car has to come out also for complete investigation. In the meantime the Sales Manager & the Sales Man are informed of developments by me by email and by phone. When I eventually get to speak to the Sales Manager on the phone and begin to go into the problems and what I would like done about them he becomes belligerent and bullying in his manner shouting over me and not allowing me to fully reply to him. A number of times I say that I would prefer to talk this through with him in person. However, he continues in his belligerent manner and I eventually say that I have to go. Extremely stressed and upset after the experience. This man's behaviour was nothing short of a verbal attack on my efforts to express my views, which he had asked for, and my right to have a car that was fit for purpose. I would never recommend this company nor would I ever do business with them again. Once bitten twice shy! I will openly inform others of my experience with MSL Ballsbridge Motors (Volkswagen) which I believe is to be taken over by Frank Keane Motors at the end of this week. One other point; it is often remarked that the Irish are not good at complaining. It is small wonder if this is the sort of response that we are met with. Customer relations of a positive nature needs a lot of work here. Customer relations of a negative nature get five ★★★★★ I would have rated zero stars but had to highlight at least one star in order to post this!

::Wouldn't ever deal with this shower again - viewed car Thursday, organised a test drive for the Saturday and they sold the car the friday without even a courtesy call to see if I wanted to make an offer. Mind you it wasn't for 30/40 grand so I'm assuming I just wasn't important enough for them to bother. Customer service non existent.
