::In the grounds of this convent, a small part of the original wall of Saint Mary of the Isle survives. The medieval priory had a wooden statue of Saint Dominic that was burned publicly during the reformation. At that time, Dominic was widely known as Sunday in English. Apart from the statue the priory might also have had a holy well: St Dominic's Well or Saint Sunday's Well. There is a small statue of Saint Dominic inside the wall above the gate today. If you did not know its history, this red sandstone wall at the end of a small street looks like an old warehouse.
