  Had a few gifts to purchase in BTs during my lunch break today and stopped off in Table for a bit of lunch. The food is always lovely and staff attentive unfortunately today was an exception. Having waited for the best part of an hour for the food to arrive I eventually got the attention of a staff member (the restaurant was quiet at the time !!!) and queried whether or not my order had been received as I needed to return to work. She confirmed that it hadn't. I requested that she call the manager. It turned out that it was the manager who had taken the order in the first instance and when I put it to her that she never recorded the order she explained somewhat indifferently that she had taken a personal call and therefore forgot the order. I totally respect that people can forget things. My difficulty is related to the breezy response. I was shocked at the indifference displayed and appalled at the disconnect between the staff and consumer especially considering that Brown Thomas prides itself on its excellent customer service! I wasted my entire lunch break sitting waiting for the food to arrive and when it didn't it was as if it was all inconsequential! I've been eating there for years but sadly I won't be back!

  Great tasting food, nice atmosphere and decor, lovely table and waiter presentation. Bit pricey but overall package makes it worth it.
