  I actually came upon this ruin by chance as I had been in Rathcoffey taking photos of the castle up there. It was only while heading for Straffan that my journey crossed paths with this ruin. Its really well preserved and well worth visiting inside and out. Its right on a bend so be careful where you park and remember there are no footpaths. The tower is blocked off so the only photos you can take are from outside but the chapel is open and for me its all about the workmanship that went into these buildings so many years ago, yet they are still standing today. I enjoyed taking photos of the tower and chapel and because its safe to enter and fenced off from the road you can take your time and discover the history and condition of the ruins themselves. If like me your more interested in the visual appearance then this is definitely worth a stop for some photos for your collection.
