::Security guy on door told me and my friend that we are drunk and we can not go in. He was celebrating his 40 birthday and I wasn't been more insulted in my life. We were walking 30min to there to hear that. Shame.

::When I was in the paddocks it was mothers day and they could not cater for the crowds they had. The good we got was fine but the waiting for it was far too long. We just ended up getting a main course.

::It's ok place for a quick bite. Prices went up a little since my last visit but are still manageable. Food is tasty. Foods presentation is very appealing for the eye. Table service is OK, it really depends on who is serving. Overall good place.

::I arranged for me and my partner to visit along with my friend and his partner, after coming across there Facebook page. I noticed a couple of bad reviews but thought I’d try it out for myself.... so here’s my story: I called Paddocks on the Friday night to arrange a table for food on Saturday around 7:00pm. I was told this wouldn’t be a problem. So we set off on our journey and arrived at 7:00pm, when we arrived at the door I was asked for ID along with my partner and my guests (I showed my ID while wondering why I am getting asked for it to eat food) we are all aged between 23-24? I was then told by the guy at the door we would be waiting one hour for a table and another forty five minutes for food... at this point I had enough. Waste of a journey and petrol. Don’t waste your time eat elsewhere.

::This is a personal review and I have particular tastes, so please bear this in mind when reading this. On the surface, the Paddocks has everything you want in an estate pub. It has food, nice pints, comfortable seating and plenty of it and a lively and vibrant crowd. Sadly, though, it is not for me. It can get very busy, sometimes uncomfortably so, and the music is often turned up too high so conversation is difficult. It is a modern pub with steps to little bits here and there yet it completely lacks the atmosphere of the archetypal Dublin pub, probably because it caters more for the younger generation than the 60s generation like me. Even at slack times, the barmen can be quite rude and will make you wait for service even when you catch their eye. I also don't like the modern practice of having one price for a pint at certain times of the week and a higher price for others. On the plus side, the pint of Guinness has improved in the last year or two and the food is very very good and excellent value. But to be honest, I only go in there when I don't have enough time to walk down to the Grasshopper.
