::We popped in for an early dinner during the bank holiday weekend. Due to the time it was fairly empty. When we entered we stood by the wait to be seated sign and were not acknowledged so we took our own seat. We asked at the bar for some food menus and we were told to take a seat and someone would bring them over straight away. After 10 minutes I had to ask again for some food menus as they never arrived. We ordered the mussels and the Hake which overall were tasty. Sadly half the mussels were closed and could not be eaten and the potatoes in the Hake dish was served cold (fridge cold). We did mention the mussels when the plates were cleared. The response was that they would let the kitchen know but no follow up was provided so we presume no one in the kitchen cared. Overall it was disappointing.

::Great wings. Limited choice but the food is tasty enough. Service was good.

::I lived in Dublin between 1989-1999. Have returned for a visit this Christmas, and though progress marches relentlessly through a town like Dublin, it was sentimentally reassuring to see the Purty Kitchen, a haunt for me in the 1990's, had changed only to improve its previously high standard. Still intimate, food still great, a welcome port in a stormy, wet Dublin winter's night, and a great place to settle as the summer sun sets late over Dublin Bay on a balmy, Irish evening.

::Definitely improved last three visit have been consistent. Lovely selection of food. One note is the baby/child portion is nearly the same size as an adult so bare that in mind. I ordered an a baby one and the kids one was pretty much the same size as the adult one just -1piece of meat. So really quite a big portion. Second time I order mash for tyre toddler and a huge bowl came out so keep it in mind if you have a chicks under 5 or with a small appetite as you might just share one between them or just order extra sides. All in all it was lovely and the staff we very accommodating
