::Went here today for first time. The place is amazing and the girl that did my hair Naomi is super talented!she knew exactly what I was looking for and my hair ended up being nicer than what I even had in mind! They just couldn’t do enough for you.Ive had some terrible hair experiences since moving here to Waterford a few months ago so I was very anxious going in here! But I’m delighted I’ve found a salon where they listen to what you want and do such an amazing job!Ill be highly recommending this salon to everyone!

::I was really disappointed with this. The reviews were good so I took a chance and it didn't pay off. My hairdresser was surly, uncommunicative and seemed to expect me to do all the work. I go to the hairdressers so they'll make me look good within a certain set of incredibly simple parameters - don't cut too much off. I suggested my most frequent cut - side swept fringe and layers. What I got was a weird hank of hair hanging down one side of my face, no product used on my hair, two short layers cut in instead of my usual graduated ones, and a cut that literally (I took note) took less time than it took to dry my hair. Not only that but I said to her right at the beginning that my hair was fragile at the moment and I had lost a lot of it. Given that I then got the roughest combing and brushing of my life with attendant pulling hair out of the brush (which I've never had with a single other hairdresser in my life) I can only guess that she didn't understand me. At the end, we both knew I wasn't happy. She cut the fringe to fall thicker across my face but it didn't help anything. She did ask if there was anything I wanted to change but frankly she'd butchered my hair enough that I didn't want her handling it anymore - and also I'm *not* the hairdresser in this scenario how on earth am I meant to fix it? So I paid and left, determined to find somewhere else that would fix the mess she'd made. I didn't even get the post-hairdresser bounce effect - my hair was left limp and lank, hanging around my face. The only thing good about this place was that I was running late and they were good about shifting my appointment to a slightly later time. Since the place was empty both when I got there and right through to the end of my appointment, I wonder if several incidents like this have happened. There was also a nice open space and feel to the salon, though I would appreciate not having Christina Aguilera's 'Dirty' music video playing straight in my face as my hair is washed.

::I've been a customer in Urban Hype for many years now and can't fault any service I have ever received. From the minute you walk in the door to the minute you leave the salon the service is fantastic. All the staff are super friendly and experts in their fields. Not to mention the complimentary wine and free wifi!
