  My wife and I placed an order a number of months ago. The order was substantial the total sum was somewhere in the region of three and a half thousand euro. As we had not received any notice as to when we would receive our ordered stock we made an enquiry to which we were informed that we should just keep ringing on a daily basis until it arrives. This seems like a rather peculiar means for a customer to receive notice of the arrival of items they have paid for. Although we expected to be notified we continued to call on a daily basis. As our due date neared less and less appeared to be done in clarifying at what stage we would receive our stock. Each time I rang I was informed that it was in Dublin and a “Special Delivery Truck” was being organised to have it down by the next day. However, each time I rang back I was speaking to another member of staff who had to take my name, check if the stock had arrived, ring Dublin and get back to me. This has so far resulted in being provided with more dates that our delivery would be available, all of which have proved to be false. During this time, I received a call from Tony Kealy’s to offer me the floor models of the Boori furniture which appeared to be a quick-fix attempt to cover up the lack of organisation in providing us with stock for which we had already paid. As the best deal the store could provide was a reduction from the original price by 140 euro we did not deem it worth our while for second hand equipment and informed the store we would like to have our original order delivered. Needless to say, the “Special Delivery” never came and when we were told it would be down by Thursday (31st August) or Friday (1st Sept) at the very latest, I booked the two days off work using up annual leave that was meant to be taken when the baby arrived. Again, nobody called us to inform us as to where our order was and so I rang again to be told that the truck coming from Dublin (which was supposed to be our special delivery) couldn’t take our stock because it was “too heavy”. I was then told that it would probably be in by Monday (4th September). Again, nobody rang, and so I rang again to be told that they would have to check with Dublin and get back to me. Again, there was no sign of our stock and I was informed that it would probably be down by Tuesday (5th September). In addition to this, they told me that the toy box we ordered as part of the Boori set wasn’t available and we will have to wait at least two more weeks to receive it. No explanation, that seemed realistic, or apology was offered at any stage during of these calls. At this stage, I assumed that due to the ridiculous service we had received and the fact our baby is due in 6 days the store would facilitate dropping our order directly to our home address as it is a short drive away. The staff member informed me that this was a bad idea as Tony Kealy’s uses DPD Delivery Services and that due to their rough nature they would likely damage or crack our furniture and it wasn’t worth taking the risk as the furniture was too expensive. I personally found this unbelievable that a member of staff was admittingly telling me that they would more than likely damage everything I had ordered if we asked them to bring it ten minutes out the road. I reiterated that we had spent approximately three and a half thousand euro but was informed the only other option was a 50 euro delivery and build charge from a carpenter that the store wouldn’t cover. It was recommended to me that I bring my own car to the shop and collect it myself. When I informed them my car wasn’t big enough I was told to bring two. Due to the fact that this is undoubtedly the worst company I have ever dealt with I would rather cancel my order completely but as our due date is imminent we have no choice but to continue ringing on a daily basis to speak to another person that knows nothing about our account. There has been zero goodwill demonstrated from Tony Kealy’s to compensate for the complete shortcomings of the service we paid substantially for.
