::Lovely location. This pet and child friendly B and B is family run and the hosts welcomed us with tea/coffee and home made biscuits. Perfect for our needs. As we had an early start for the morning ferry we were offered a room only discount, so missed what was probably a great breakfast, but there are tea and coffee making facilities in the room so didn't have to drive without the morning caffeine fix.

::My family (kids aged 4 and 18 months) stayed at Riverfield for 4 nights and had a wonderful experience. The property is lovely. There is a nice weeping willow in the middle of the parking area when you pull up. The back yard is fully fenced in with three slides and a swing set for kids to play on. There is an outdoor sitting area set among flowers and vines when you first exit the back door that is just lovely even though it wasn't warm enough for us to take full advantage of it while we were there. On the first floor, there is a sitting room for guests to use with two couches, three chairs, and a television. Off of the sitting room is a playroom with a windowed door. The rooms are on the second floor. We stayed in a family room with a double bed for us and two twins for our kids. They provided a crib for our youngest as well. The room was comfortable and clean. We had a great time using this as our base of operations for our quick family trip to Ireland. Laura and David were very gracious hosts. They were full of information about the area. Breakfast was delicious and they were very accommodating about what time we had it. On our first morning, our girls slept until 11am! Laura made sure we didn't go without. On the day we left we need to make an extra early departure. Laura and David were up with the chickens to make sure we didn't start our travels on an empty stomach. Speaking of chickens, they have chickens on the property that they were only too happy to introduce to our older daughter and let her pet it. She was thrilled! Farm fresh eggs for breakfast was also a great bonus! Our girls loved playing in the backyard and in the playroom. It was very convenient for us because we could let them play without having to hover. One thing that is tough about travelling with young children is that you don't really get any 'down' time. Everywhere you do, it seems that YOU are their entertainment. Not so at Riverfield. We were able to say 'go play in the playroom/outside' and they could go do that just as they would at home. After we put the kids to bed, we would sit in the sitting room talking and having a beer at the end of the night, just as we would at home. On the Friday night that we stayed, there were several other guests that joined us in the sitting room and we had a nice bit of conversation.

::I proprietari sono due persone anziane simpaticissime. Arredato con gusto ed anche con un pizzico di ironia!
