::This Gym is HORRIBLE. If you are student you get kicked out during the best parts of the day because you don't pay for it, while if you pay for it you get charged outrageous fees and still you have to share the gym with a tone of people. The swimming pool is of olympic size, but that does not prevent it from getting crowded at all times a day, ensuring that you won't be able to have a relaxing swim. If you are looking for a leisure place to increase your stress after a day's work, this is your gym. If you are a student you have to pay for the swimming pool, which is always busy with some stupid training from any of the UCD societies, taking half of the pool for themselves. Moreover, depending on the time of the day you might be asked to stop swimming for a while, as they might need to reorganise the pool by subdividing it in two parts. The pool is often stinky and the same goes for the therapidarium area. You'll be lucky if you find any of the facilities working in decent conditions. The shower sensors are just moronic. They used to provide water and ice with a dispenser but last time I checked it was gone or not working, because 'reasons'. The staff seem to have a tone of 'laws and regulations' for you to follow, but in exchange you are not guaranteed that any of the facilities will be working in normal conditions. Not that the staff give a damn at all, mind you. The cherry on the top of the cake can be found in the entrance, which has been designed by the ass of a monkey and it's taken care by the hairs coming out of it. Let me explain. As a student your receive a UCD card, which when you pay the fees for the swimming pool it gives you access to the latter by swiping it at the entrance. Except when it doesn't, which seems to be the most often case. If you try to swipe your card between certain timetables (6-9 pm I think) the door won't open an you will have to ask somebody of the staff to open the door for you. There are two doors, the second you can open it with your card. Following common sense, the next time you will ask them to open the door straight away, to only have the staff asking you to use your swipe card. A conversation explaining follows, the card doesn't work so they end up opening the door for you. That means that you will have to have this stupid moronic conversation every time you want to access the swimming pool. Except for one day that suddenly they ask you to swipe the card and then it works, but just that time because it's out of term and the time restriction is off. You can try to wait for somebody to come out, so that you can sneak in without having to swipe the card or having the stupid conversation, but if they spot you, then an even longer conversation follows. To top things up, I asked for a suggestions box/complaint form to inform about the incident only to find out that they wouldn't provide one. Their only option was to talk with the manager straight away, whom very graciously expected me to wait for more than 30 min until he decided to show up. To him and them I say: No thanks. I could keep going on about this and other stuff related to this place, but I think you get the point. By the way, if you've made it this far into my rant, you are my hero.

::The facilities work though the machines are a bit older and showing some wear (some of the red leather seatings are ripped) it's never too crowded so it's usually pretty easy to get on all the reps you need. The staff has been friendly to me and was helpful when my card wasn't working the first week I was here.

::I don't use the gym but gorgeous pool and a great selection of classes. Love Body Pump and RPM. Very friendly staff, especially the reception staff. Highly recommend.

::Most of the review I have red from Google are not real reviews. It appear that most live outside Ireland and this explain the false portray this facility create? UCD use to be a wonderful space 4-5 years ago. The reality of now is that: you will pay crazy money for unprofessional staff, untrained management/staff and unqualified trainers. I was slapped in my butt , and received explicit sexual remark, never to mention being victim of staff vendetta when I complained about it. The management is unprofessional , the gym small and unsafe always super packet and the machine old and broken. Racks are never available and complaint will never be addressed. The politics in this sport centre is about screw you for money and you will never get what you are promised. The sale team will lie to the teeth to take your money. Once you are a member you will be just a number and student will always own the place. Staff is rude and arrogant a -part from very few good individuals. The pick time is all the time!No control over membership management. These guys are greedy , sale driven cowboy of the gym industry. Totally image driven but no reality in what they sell. Awful bunch ! Happy to move to a better and more comfortable & professional Gym. Totally going down the hill.
