  Stayed for one night last weekend. Never been there before. Overall a good experience although the dinner on the Friday evening was not close to 5star. Fillet steak should not be tough, nor should fish be overcooked!! Nice wine list and service was friendly and efficient. Breakfast was a bit of a free for all and would have expected a degree of table service at this level. Having to make your toast for example after queuing for the toaster 😏. All a bit 3 star more like!! When I’m away for a weekend I want to be pampered!!! The bedroom was very nice and really can’t fault it. All in all a good experience let down primarily by the dining experience which flattered to deceive.

  A five star hotel in a superb estate comprising of two championship golf courses, and ancillary golf services along with tennis and football facilities. It also has facilities for Rugby and other sports. Alongside the hotel and stately house, it has spa and leisure centres. The estate also boasts a wild brown river and a fine lake which provides excellent brown trout, big pike and coarse fishing along with quality guided service. Beautiful parklands and walks compliment a most gracious estate. Finally fine food is provided in the Hotel and golf club.

  Our second visit to Carton House was even better than our first one just a year ago. We enjoyed the "Joys of Spring" deal. Our evening meal was delicious and the staff restaurant staff were very welcoming and attentive. Breakfast was really good too. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The grounds at Carton House are fantastic for walks and we had a lovely walk from the hotel into Maynooth. We had the advantage of good weather too.

  I had afternoon tea here and it was a great experience. The staff were friendly and welcoming from the start. The tea and food was delicious, particularly the salmon and egg sandwiches. I also enjoyed the chocolate dessert. The surroundings were nice, with plenty of walks available. I will be back.

  Stayed here recently for 1 night. Spa is nice & pool & Jacuzzi is lovely. Steam room wasn't working but Sauna was nice & hot! Restaurant is definitely fine dining & very expensive, food was great but just needed a little bit more on the plate! :) Staff are really nice & very helpful. Id definitely recommend it for a night away
