::On two occasions I was accosted while queueing for foreign exchange to push the benefits of online banking, even though I was one of the first people to embrace it many years ago. After generations of family loyalty to AIB I was left feeling that they did not want to see a person, just a login screen.

::Shocking lack of customer service. Appointments need to be made just to have a question answered. Painfully slow. Awkward customer service desk. Staff just shuttle people to the machines. If my question could be answered by a machine, trust me, I'd ask it rather than waiting in line for the staff to stop daydreaming. What's the point in branches any more? If you're not going to provide a service, shut it down and pay the taxpayer back. I've closed my account. AIB don't care about consumer/personal bank customers.
