::It will be a long time before I rent from here again. The staff initially were really helpful and pleasent to deal with. I had booked the van online got the price (€115.01 for 2 days hire which included comprehensive insurance cover with excess, VAT, free amendments & cancellation and roadside assistance ). Called in done all the paperwork, handed in my bank card and was given a back a receipt with the amount of over €3500, after picking myself off the floor after the shock, I questioned how the stated price had increased so much. The new price was covering the excess on the insurance, unless I bought and paid for hertz super cover. Which was an extra €24 a day , paid for the super cover ! So my new receipt was for €550 plus... After agreeing to the new price after been told my account would not be debited until I brought the van back. €163 was the agreed price. Everything was going great. Went to the shop used my card. No money on my account. The amount of €550 plus was taken from my account. Then the bother of bringing back the van. I had filled it with fuel as far as it wud go. As I had been left with no money the whole weekend. The employee came out , checked the van over, and charged an extra €50 to my account as the needle was not at full. I was told to bring it to the garage and fill it up and the money would not be charged. Even though they had charged it already and then told me to go fill it. When I returned handed back the keys again. I was then told I would be refunded in a few days. It was horrible experience trying to hand back the van and definitely will not be renting from hertz again. All hidden charges and extras it costs a fortune !!

::The employees were great, and the low score is not a reflection of the service we received. Hertz as a company really nickel and dimes you. Be prepared to spend double what you are quoted, once they add on insurance (or the fee they will charge you if you DON'T buy their insurance). Also, the excess is still 2500 Euro even with insurance. It would be more pleasant if Hertz just informed you of the cost upfront rather than letting you book online for one price, as we did, and then unexpectedly add a ton of extra costs on at the counter.

::As an older couple, it was our first time hiring a car so my husband and I were feeling apprehensive as we had read many horror stories of what could go wrong with car rental companies. We read online that our safest option was to go with an established and reputable company so we chose Hertz and were so glad we did. Our experiencesa at Hertz, lower Glanmire Road Cork city couldn't have been more positive. The whole booking process was effortless, everything was explained with fantastic customer service and no hidden charges. Thank you so much to the brilliant staff, we won't hesitate to return :-) ..
